Nem működik a display config!

Ubuntu Linux

Most tettem fel egy kedves ügyfél gépére a 6.10-es kubuntut, és nem működik a display settings ezt írja:

Ez a hiba KDE-t érinti vagy az Ubuntu sajátja?

Most ez van :

Újraraktam a full KDE-t :sudo apt-get install --reinstall KDE

az eredmény ugyan az, kezdem úgy érezni hogy ideje visszaváltani SuSe 10.1-remasteredre, elég szánalmas hogy nem tudom belőni a monitor felbontását, hiba irom át kézzel a xorg.conf fájlt, sz*rik rá, vagy el sem indítja a X szervert.
Tudja valaki hogy a kedves Kubuntu miért tojik nagy ívben arra hogy:
sudo init 3???
nem csinál semmit!! ez normális??????

Egy 21 colos MCM 21T2-es moncsiról van szó 1600*1200-ben 90Hz volna a beállítandó felbontás....

Valoszinusitem, hogy az x helyet kerne le 'index(x)', de mivel az x nincs benne a tombbe behal.
Ez csak azert is fura, mert ha programhiba lenne minden gepen behalna nem?
Lehet hogy hianyzik egy dep?
Vagy a python regi, igazabol a rendszer ismerete nelkul, csak x millio hiba lehetoseg van.

Újrahúztam a Kubuntu-t nem engedtem frissülni, most müxik a display conf, elolvastam az ATI howto -t az ubuntu oldalán minden úgy tettem ahogy ott írva vagyon az eredmény:

Csak tipp...

Nekem le kellett tiltani a Composite-ot, hogy működjön az OpenGL.

Szóval az xorg.conf végén nekem van egy ilyen bejegyzés:

Az általad említett howto-ban a "Diable" szó helyén "0" áll, de nekem csak így működik.

Szintén Kubuntu 6.10 és a driver pedig:
