Friss Ubuntu + NVIDIA = fagyás

Egy teljesen új ubuntu Jaunty CD-ről telepítettem linuxot a laptopomra amire első dolgom lett volna NVIDIA drivert felpakolni. Ez gyönyörűen meg is történik, (Nem ír hibát az installer.) beállítja az xorg.confomat. (Ez néhány hónapja jól szuperált.) De most a gép újraindítása után amikor jönnie kéne az nvidia logónak és a grafikus felületnek, csak fekete képernyő van és csontrafagy a gép.

tévedek, vagy legalább két-három release óta az installer a logo-t is kikapcsolja az xorg.conf-ba?

másrészt a konkrét problémára ugyan nincs tippem, talán próbálj meg valami ppa-ról 185-ös drivert felrakni!
180-as már ősrégi... :S

Ugyanez tortenik ATI-val is.

Feltettem, azonnal ment az ATI driver, es ronggya utana fagyott a gep. Ujratelepites utan hagytam a sunyiba azt a drivert, azota tokeletesen mukodik minden, epp csak hozza kellett adni a megfelelo felbontast xorg.confban.

(Megjegyzem, ez valoszinuleg eleg barbar megoldas, viszont legalabb mukodik...)

Ez a default amit az nvidia intall csinált. Valami gond van vele?

Ha nem akarsz 3D-t, akkor nem kell telepítened az nVidia által kreált drivert, tehát marad az nv, ami az Xorg része. Ha van kedved variálni az nVidiával, akkor én a karmic tárolósat szoktam felbuherálni, mert az sokkal frissebb. Az is megoldás, ha az Ubuntu-Tweak nevű programmal aktiválod a javított X meghajtók repository-t.
Az alap nv-nek nem szabadna fagynia. Az xorg.conf-ban javítsd ki nvidia-t nv-re! Viszont akkor búcsúzhatsz a 3D-től. Ha nyíltat akarsz esetleges 3D-vel, akkor a Nouveau a te megoldásod. Nincs vele tapasztalatom, még sohasem próbáltam.
