unbrick Synology DS209 - upgrade to DS211j

Végre elővettem a kb. 1 éve tégla DS209-em, pár kávéval és pár órával később már 211j-ként bootol és DSM 6.1.2-15132 fut rajta :)
Lett pár plusz ősz hajszálam, de ha valaki ilyesmibe fogna akkor tudok már tanácsokat adni :)
Valamint az 5TB-os Seagate HDD is működik benne gond nélkül.

Eredeti szoftveres hack:
A DS209-ason csak a DSM 4.3 verzió volt támogatva, de egy egyszerű szöveges konfigurációs file-ban az azonosító megváltoztatásával el lehetett hitetni az updaterrel hogy valójában 211j és felment rá az 5.0 verzió is.
Anno meg is csináltam ezen majd eladtam ebayen, vissza is jött egy hét után téglásítva, egy "szakértő" próbálkozott rajta (nem, nem az általam végzett upgraddel volt gond, kolléga valahogy sikeresen törölte/korruptálta a kernelt+initrd-t a flashről).

Javítás folyamatáról írok majd ha érdekel valakit, itt egy bootlog az upgrade után:

A frissítést követően tapasztaltál (elsősorban negatív irányú) különbséget a teljesítményben?

Nem tudom a DSM 4.2-5.0-5.1-6.1 verziók között milyen rendszerigény-változás van. Érzésre nem lassabb a webes felület, még másolni nem másoltam, majd a hétvégén nézek számokat

Maga a két hardver egyébként ugyanaz, az egyedüli különbség hogy a DS209-ben 256MB memória van míg a 211j-ben csak 128MB.

CPU igényesebb alkalmazásokhoz természetesen az 1x1.2GHz Marvel armv5 nem elég, anno az OpenVPN kapcsolaton keresztüli torrent eléggé kihajtotta a procit, de általános filekezelési/megosztási feladatokra (ha nincs re-encode vagy vpn stb) tökéletes még mindig :)

Újra elgondolkoztam rajta hogy frissítenék, úgyis jön egy lemezmigrálás 4TB-ra.
Ventillátor (sebesség kontroll) és LED gondok voltak vagy sem frissítés után?

Minket nagyon érdekelne a folyamat! Kollégám szerzett egy brickelt DS209+ NAS-t. Nagyon úgy néz ki, hogy az előző gazdája át akarta flashelni 210+ra. A Synology Assistant annak is látja, de az image-t nem tudja feltölteni rá (telnetet aktiválja, amikor hibával elszáll). Telneten keresztül lehet hozzá csatlakozni - valamint éppen egy TTL konzolkábel beszerzésén vagyunk.

Tudsz segíteni, hogy mi lenne az unbrick módja (az a megoldás is jó lenne, hogy 211j-re flasheljük, de a 209+ visszatérés se lenne baj, csak működjön). Előre is hálás köszönet.
