AIX OVA (Cloudscape)

Az IBM "Entitled Software Support" AIX letoltesek oldalon talaltam egy uj, szamomra ismeretlen formatumot az ISO mellett: "OVA, AIX V6.1 Base (Open Archive Format, TL 6100-05-00, 4/2010)".

Utananezve kiderult, hogy ez az OVA az "open virtual appliance" roviditese, a formatum pedig "OVA formatted virtual image for IBM WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance"-kent van definialva.

"IBM WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance (WebSphere CloudBurst) firmware V1.1 provisions and manages WebSphere Application Server to virtualized servers and private cloud computing environments. WebSphere CloudBurst dispenses patterns (predefined application environments codified from 10 years of management best practices) of WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition virtual images into a pool of virtualized resources running on a supported hypervisor."

Szoval ha jol rakom ossze a kepet, van egy dedikalt appliance (egy xSeries), ami a hozzarendelt, Power hypervisort vagy ESX-et futtato gepeken elvegzi a VM-ek (SLES vagy AIX) telepiteset es vezerleset. Az egesz pedig a WebSphere Java EE (Application Server/Process Server...) cloud epitesere lett kitalalva. Az AIX opcio mintegy fel eve kerult be a kepbe.
