SuSE 7.2 vs. HP OfficeJet V 40

Sziasztok!

Volna egy problémám, amivel nem boldogulok. Adott egy SuSE 7.2 disztrib. és adott 1 HP OfficeJet V 40 all-in-one nyomtató. A disztrib nem támogatja ezt a nyomtatót. Frissítettem cups-ot, de az sem használt, van-e még valami., amit updatelni kell ahhoz, hogy a probléma megoldódjon?

Hat ez a nyomtato a Linuxprinting.org szerint "Mostly" azat "Tobbnyire" mukodik Linux alatt.

BTW: a Linuxprinting.org a legjobban osszeszedett adatbazis a NET-en. Szinte minden megtalalhato benne. Mindent megtalalsz egy helyen, leiras, tippek, driver.

"The best choice for printing is the "hpijs" driver developed by HP.

The best output one gets with HP´s HPIJS 1.3 or newer. If you cannot update to HPIJS 1.3 for some reason, you can also use HPIJS 1.2.2 with the patches from Matthias Bunte and Richard Spencer-Smith ("hpijs-rss"). The GIMP-Print driver also works (Model setting: "pcl-900"), but only up to 600 dpi.

Scanning works using the HPOJ low-level driver together with its SANE backend "hpoj".

Copying should just work, it does not need the PC..

PC faxing not yet supported.

To print via USB you NEED to set up this printer with HPOJ or you have to use the modifed USB printer.c kernel module from the HPOJ web site, even if you do not want to scan."
