A Bacula fejlesztői csapat tegnapelőtt bejelentette a népszerű hálózati adatmentő megoldás, a Bacula Network Backup Solution 2.0.0-s verzióját. Kern Sibbald, Bacula core csapattag, a projekt társ-alapítója kiemelte a kiadás érdekében a közösség által végzett óriási munkát.

Új szolgáltatások és eszközök, amelyek egyszerűbbé teszik a backup-ot:

  • Job Migration (from one Volume to another)
  • bweb has been released, new program in the bacula-gui package
  • New disk seek code for faster restores from disk-based Volumes
  • Data encryption for Volumes
  • Additional support for removable devices such as DVD and USB disk devices
  • Win32 build now uses mingw32 cross compiling
  • The Director and Storage daemon have now been ported to Win32.
  • Bacula restore and bextract can now extract non-portable Win32 data to any client (including Unix/Linux clients)
  • The 260 character limitation for Win32 paths name lengths is now eliminated
  • Many enhancements for running scripts before and after jobs, both on the client and on the server
  • Added support for SunOS ACLs
  • Ability to enable/disable Volumes and jobs
  • Enhanced support for DVD as a backup medium
  • Enhanced spooling throughput when running multiple simultaneous jobs
  • Windows tray status windows are scrollable and resizable
  • Enhanced support for user use of Volume Management software (e.g. tape location)
  • New man pages for most of Bacula's daemons and tools

Ez mennyire műküdik hálózat nélkül? Egy sajátgépes backup megoldás kellene (hdd -> usb hdd), Windowsra, az eddigi nem open source megoldások nem jöttek be.

ez egy nagyszeru alkalmazas volt eddig is, igy meg plane. nem 2 perc beloni, de ha egyszer kesz a setup, hozza sem kell nyulni. egy terulet, amit a fenti lista alapjan nem latom, hogy fejlesztettek volna, az a bare-metal recovery, de majd utananezek. az eddigi megoldas egy kicsit nehezkes, imho.
