Standard kérdés: CentOS és Scintific Linux update mikor várható?

"Packages are being built for the latest 6.3 update. This is the first round of builds and usually ends up with at least a few "broken" builds that need to be manually examined/re-ordered/rebuilt. Once we get a good set of packages, those will be pushed to the QA boxes where the QA team can pull them down for initial testing and review. At that point, it's mostly about verifying that upstream branded stuff is stripped out properly, and looking for missing dependencies, doing test upgrades, etc. since the install media likely won't be complete by then. And of course, we'll be able to kick off the automated test system too.

More updates to follow as we see how the initial builds go."

Én most a VPS-en CentOS 6.2-t használok (rendszergazdaként FreeBSD után kissé fura, de a cégnél fejlesztőként megszoktam már a RHEL-t), ha lesz CentOS 6.3, akkor mennyire "gázos" a frissítés? FreeBSD esetén csináltam már major verziónál is frissítést, mennyire problémás ez CentOS esetén? :)

"All packages have now been built for 6.3. This is the "first pass" and we must now review package dependencies, repo closure, etc. But it means we're through the first round of building.

Next up: wrapping up work on the ISO composes, and then doing the ISO composes. Also, doing a bit more organization of the trees to separate os/ and updates/

We expect to get some form of the package trees available to the QA team today. If all goes well, it will be an installable tree along with ISOs."

"The QA team now has both i386/ and x86_64/ trees. x86_64 is includes install images/ISOs; we're still waiting on those for i386.

QA testing has begun!"
