Cloud Systems Engineer
Sophos is looking for a System Engineer working on high reliability systems with big data set in the cloud. This is a great opportunity for a engineers with IT background who is openly passionate about computer security and system development support. You will help develop and deploy company wide solutions running in the cloud. To succeed in this role you’ll be passionate about Linux/UNIX systems, and keen on to use your excellent IT based knowledge and designing skills to help the team being successful. You can use and improve your knowledge while working in the cloud with high performance and availability.
So, if you work or worked in system maintenance but would like to change to be a part of a software development team, responsible for the development tools, test environment and automated deployment, you are the right person for us. This role is located in Budapest, Hungary and might require some travel to our other offices.
Main Duties
- Design, set up and maintain automated cloud deployment
- Manage and maintain development tools (continuous integration, testsystem, development environment,…)
- Keep contact with the team responsible for production systems
- Help software and QA engineers in system analysis and issue hunting
- Participation in agile planning with product stakeholders
- Communicating effectively, removing impediments to the team’s progress, asking for and offering help when needed
Essential skills:
- Distribution independent Linux administration knowledge
- Scripting knowledge (one of Bash, Python)
- Network protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP)
- Comprehensive IT knowledge
- Experience in system administration
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Team player
- Fluent English
Desirable skills:
- Continuous integration / testing / deployment software administration (Jenkins, Bamboo)
- Configuration management (Puppet)
- Cloud technologies (AWS)
- Experience in Agile software development
- Proficient in managing development tools (source control, static analysis, profilers, make, coverage analysis etc.)

- A szervezeti egység, ahol ez a pozíció lenne 3 platformot fejleszt. Az üzemeltetését külföldi csapat végzi, viszont az általunk készített rendszert üzemeltetésre készen kell átadnunk. A telepítés / frissítés lépéseinek kidolgozása, telepítési leírás, üzemeltetési folyamatok (SOP) elkészítése a mi feladatunk, ezért fontos, hogy a fejlesztői csapatban legyen üzemeltető szemléletű kolléga. Habár kitűnő fejlesztőink vannak, az üzemeltethetőséghez kell egy kis segítség.
- A feladatkör egy másik része a fejlesztői infrastruktúránk karbantartása.
- AWS cloud-ot használunk, ennek ismerete előny, de nem feltétele a pozíció betöltésének.
- Amire feltétlenül szükség van az precizitás, disztribúció független Linux ismeret, üzemeltetési tapasztalat és angol nyelvismeret.
- Van lehetőség konferencia látogatásra, szakmai képzés látogatásra és hozzá kapcsolódó tanúsítvány megszerzésre.
