Megjelent a LineageOS 23-as, Android 16 alapokon nyugvó kiadása. 

TL;DR:

  • Google no longer pushes monthly tags and patches to AOSP; and most fixes/security patches are now pushed quarterly, if at all.
  • Security patch levels may occasionally lag: we only increment them once all patches are public.
  • LineageOS 23.0 is based on Android 16 “QPR0” because QPR1’s source isn’t public yet.
    • Because of this some headline features (like Material 3 Expressive) will come later, once sources drop.
  • Pixel support continues, but with reduced source access, they’re no longer guaranteed, let alone on day one.

Valaki aki képben van ezzel... hogy is van ez? Zárt forráskódhoz kapnak hozzáférést az OEM-ek s arra építgetik a saját szoftverüket+hw támogatást? Vagy AOSP és arra?

Why are parts of Android developed in private?

It typically takes more than a year to bring a device to market. And, of course, device manufacturers want to ship the latest software they can. Meanwhile, developers don't want to constantly track new versions of the platform when writing apps. Both groups experience a tension between shipping products and not wanting to fall behind.

To address this, some parts of the next version of Android including the core platform APIs are developed in a private branch. These APIs constitute the next version of Android. Our aim is to focus attention on the current stable version of the Android source code while we create the next version of the platform. This allows developers and OEMs to use a single version without tracking unfinished future work just to keep up.

Csinálhatnának hozzá vasat is. Egy Samsung S5 LineageOS 17.1 telcsit használok sim nélkül, a Wise app miatt meg van benne 128GB SD a DriveDroid apphoz, Sergei Strelec, winfos telepítő, egyéb szarok egy tapizással kiválaszthatók. Jó áron lenne általuk készített vas megvenném, ezzel támogatva az értékes munkájukat. Természetesen nem MTK procival.
