Pár nappal ezelőtt szép csendben kijött a Gimp 2.0 pre4-es változata. Úgy tűnik még késik kicsit a stabil verzió.Számos hibajavítást eszközöltek a fejlesztők a pre3-hoz képest. A változások listája itt található:

Bár korábban úgy tűnt, hogy a Gimp 2.0 pre2 után már nem lesz szükség több pre kiadásra, Dave Neary február 4-én bejelentette a GIMP legújabb, 2.0 pre3 változatát.A legutóbbi kiadás óta csomó bugot eltávolítottak, de még további bugok várnak javításra, s biztosak benne, h számos hibát még nem találtak meg. Neary egy kérdésre válaszolva hozzátette, hogy ha minden jól megy, akkor a végleges 2.0.0 még február vége előtt megjelenhet. (Frissítette a roadmapet is, mely szerint február 18-án jön egy pre4 vagy rc1, majd 25-én a végleges 2.0.0 verzió.)

A legutóbbi változathoz képest 40 ismert hiba lett javítva, valamint számos kisebb változtatás történt a kódtisztítás alatt.

Köszönhetően a 2.0pre1 változat utáni relatíve kevés hibajelentésnek, úgy néz ki, hogy ez az utolsó pre release.

Nincs minden a végleges formájábn még ebben a verzióban, de közel vannak a 2.0 végleges kiadásához. Várják mindenki visszajelzését, hogy minél hamarabb kiadhassák a stabil 2.0-ás verziót. A hibákat a http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ oldalon lehet tenni.

Megjelent a méltán népszerű képmanipuláló program, a GIMP újabb verziója, szám szerint az 1.3.23-as.Ma reggel 09:58-kor David Neary bejelentette a GIMP fejlesztői ágának újabb verzióját, az 1.3.23 -at. Állítása szerint ez az utolsó fejlesztői változat a végleges 2.0 verzió előtt.

Sokat dolgoztak a plug-in API stabilizálásán valamint az elég nagy számú kimagasló probléma megoldásán, mielőtt kiadnák a végleges 2.0-t.

Dave Neary bejelentette a népszerű open-source képmanipulátor, a GIMP fejlesztői ágának új verzióját, az 1.3.21 -et.
