We have detected that your dialup connection or network settings are currently configured to manually specify which DNS servers to use. In the process of upgrading and changing our network to work faster and be more reliable, these manual settings you are using are now incorrect and you will need to change them in order to continue accessing the internet.

These old DNS servers have been phased out in order to complete this step of our network upgrades. You will need to change your settings to continue using your service.

Solutions:

To verify or change the settings on your existing dialup connection, please follow the simply instructions below:

*This does NOT apply to networked connections such as dedicated or colocated servers, or local area networks that are connected through a central router. Please have your network administrator correct these settings. The information provided on this page relates to users who have a modem and use a dialup connection to get on the internet.

Windows 95/98/ME: Go to "My Computer" then "Dialup Networking" and Right-click on the connection to WT.net and choose properties. Go to the "Server Types" tab then click on TCP/IP Settings. On this page, make sure "Server assigned name server addresses" is selected. Click OK all the way back to Dialup Networking, then you can close everything so you are back to your desktop. Now, continue using your computer and internet access as normal.

Windows 2000/XP: Open your connection and click on properties, then go to the Networking tab and choose TCP/IP then click properties, enable "Obtain DNS server address automatically" Click OK to save, then ok again to return to the connection dialog. You can now continue as you normally would.

Not connecting with a modem and a dialup connection?

If you are using a router or other method of connecting to our network, you will need to refer to the documentation that came with that equipment or contact your network technician to correct your settings. Please provide them with the DNS server IP addresses listed below in case they need to manually specify new DNS servers.

If you must manually specify new DNS servers, please use the following:

Primary: 216.119.128.9
Secondary: 216.119.128.10

If you are dialing up to the internet on a PC running MS Windows, you can simply install the WT.net /dialer software (click here to download now) to automatically update these settings as well as maintain a current list of valid dialup phone numbers.

Download the WT.net Dialer (this is optional, you do not have to install this software.)
(Only for users running Microsoft Windows) If asked to "Open" or "Save", choose "Open" which will download the file and begin the installation. Alternatively, you can right-click on the link above, and choose "Save Target As" Be sure you choose a destination or "Save In" folder that you can easily find, such as your desktop. Once the download is complete, find the file named wtnet.exe and open it to begin the installation.
