Winmodem(notebook) vs. BSD valaki segítsen!

Nekem is hasonló a problémám, Linuxszal. Nekem azt mondták, felejtsem el a netet, ha winmodem-re linuxot használok, de ahogy a szavaitokból kivettem, talán lehet olyan megoldás, amihez nem kell atomprogramozói tudás.

Javasolták már a PCMCIA kártyát, de most nincs zsebből 15E Ft-m, így más megoldást kell keresnem.

Ez típustól függ, az én winmodememhez például van linuxos meghajtó, ltmodem-nek hívják. Egy-pár más vezérlőkhöz is van, utána kellene pontosan nézni.

Linux alá nincs nagy gond vele nekem ment 2.4-es kernellel, szerintem neked is mennie kell van hozzá jól használhtaór driver, nézz utánna a googlen.

Korábban, amikor modemes netem volt, akkor én iswinmodemet használtam, és korrektül ment linux alatt is, mert volt hozzá driver. Intel gyártmány volt a modem, chipset a lényeg: Intel 536ep v92 (ebből az 536EP, és a v92 a lényeg). Ehhez volt driver a főbb disztrókhoz, de pl. egy Mandrivás driverrel simán ment UHU alatt is a modem.
Egyébként egy nagyon jó kis modem mind a mai napig, pedig már 2 éve vettem (jelenleg egy haverom használja -nagy megelégedéssel).

Hát nekem is volt/van ilyen problémám de már beletorodtem, hogy nem fog menni a winmodemem, volt regebben egy Lucent csipes azzal nem ment sehogyansem, meg most vagy egy ESS csipes na ezzel sem :P :cry: :evil:

Bsd-t nem tudom rávenni hogy használja a modememet, valaki tudna segíteni itt a pciconf es a dmesg kimenete:

Hát ha jól gondolom, hogy ott a lista közepében levő Sis -re gondolsz:

no akkor ezt nem fogod beizzítani, mert nincs hozzá BSD-s meghajtó. Ha nagyon zavar a dolog, akkor

1) nézz utána, hogy van-e linuxos driver
2) és ha van, akkor a POrts-ban levő comms/ltmdm és comms/mwave mintájára nekiállhatsz összebarkácsolni, hogy a bináris (?) linuxos meghajtója menjen BSD alatt is.

Ez van.

mondjuk az se lenne baj ha nem az egesz dmesget pasztolnad ide:)
