ESXi datastore != Virtual Disk (eltérő méret)

- RAID1 2x 960GB Dell Mixed Use SSD SATA
- 32GB RAM

# RAID1 beállítás:
- Logical Sector Size: 512B
- Strip Element Size: 64KB
- Current Write Cache Policy: Write Back
- Read Cache Policy: Read Ahead
- Disk Cache: Default

# iDRAC9:
- Virtual Disk: 893.75GB

# ESXi:
- DellEMC Custom Image for ESXi 7.0 U3 Install CD
- datastore1: VMFS6 (type), Version 6.82, Local    Yes, Block size    1MB
- capacity: 765.5GB

# Probléma, kérdéseim:
- iDRAC9: 893.75GB-ot lát, míg az ESXi csak 765.5GB-ot
- jól gondolom, hogy ez az ESXi Block size 1MB miatt van?
- mit kéne tennem, hogy a teljes 893.75GB-ot használhassam?

gondolom ez az egy tömböd van, rajta van az ESXi gondolom az eszi el a helyet belőle, nézd meg a particiós táblát

Erre nem is gondoltam, 116.7G kell neki.

SD kártyás időkben használtam utoljára ESXi-t, régóta minden más az Azure-ban fut.
Igazából, max. 250GB adat lesz rajta, így bőven elég lesz.

Csak furi volt, hogy hol a "hiányzó" 120GB.
Nem gondoltam, hogy ilyen kis falánk lett. ;-]

Az OSData partíció mérete 138 GB-ig (128GiB) terjeszkedhet. Ha legalább ESXi 7.0 Update 1c-t használsz, akkor a telepítéskor a systemMediaSize opcióval meghatározhatod a partíció méretét. (Minimum: 33GB)

With ESXi 7.0 Update 1c, you can use the installer boot option systemMediaSize to limit the size of system storage partitions on the boot media. If your system has a small footprint that does not require the maximum 138 GB system-storage size, you can limit it to the minimum of 33 GB. The systemMediaSize parameter accepts the following values:

The selected value must fit the purpose of your system. For example, a system with 1TB of memory must use the minimum of 69 GB for system storage. To set the boot option at install time, for example systemMediaSize=small, refer to Enter Boot Options to Start an Installation or Upgrade Script. For more information, see VMware knowledge base article 81166.

  • min (33 GB, for single disk or embedded servers)
  • small (69 GB, for servers with at least 512 GB RAM)
  • default (138 GB)
  • max (consume all available space, for multi-terabyte servers)
