[ Bah. I sent this out earlier, but it turns out that I sent it to the
wrong list due to some messed-up autocompletion, so people didn't
see it.
So here's the 6.14-rc3 announcement on the proper mailing list ]
So the first few weeks of the 6.14 release development were
smaller-than-usual, but rc3 is actually right in line with normal
releases at this point. Probably just timing of pull requests, and
we'll see how next week goes. But nothing looks worrisome.
The diffstat is mostly normal, although we do have a few spikes in it:
there's a fair amount of fixes to arm64 kvm, mostly centered around
FP/SIMD/SVE. There's also some UML virtio updates, all making the
diffstat fairly architecture-heavy - about a third of the patch is in
architecture code.
And on the driver side, there's some new infrastructure for upcoming
platform device handling, and some drm and OF test updates, which also
show up in the diffstat as bigger spikes.
Other than that, it all looks pretty small and normal, with small
fixes all over (networking, core kernel, regular driver fixes, etc).
Please do keep testing,
Linus
