IT Professional for a European Stock Exchange

To sustain our growth, we are looking to add a seasoned IT professional to
our team. In this role, you will:

• Respond to and resolve production hardware or operating systems related failures and problems.
• Identify system resource bottlenecks and work with the development team to test and tune systems for optimal performance.
• Consult on internal development projects.
• Work with clients in connecting to the platform.
• Participate in the test and release process of our software systems.
• Administer our production and historical databases, and automate certain data-management tasks.

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in system administration in a Unix/Linux environment, with emphasis on RedHat.
• Fluency in scripting and the ability to design and write operating system and platform utilities.
• SQL
• Strong TCP/IP working knowledge.
• Strong systems benchmarking and performance optimization skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to be an active contributor in a team work environment and be willing to take on problem ownership within the team.
• Excellent communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
• Written and oral English is a must.

Advantages:

• A college diploma or university degree or relevant job experience in computer science or engineering is a definite asset.
• Python.
• 'Big Data' mining experience and concepts.
• Equities exchange / brokerage / banking / regulatory knowledge.
