Fedora 8 + fglrx + Compiz = valami nem jó

Felkerült a gépre (ATi 9800XT) egy szűz Fedora 8. Mellélapátolódott a fglrx driver így: LINK
A driver telepítése után a gxgears 6300 pont körüli értéket mutat.
A Compiz-t így tettem fel: LINK
Hiába próbálom azonban a DesktopEffects-et bekapcsolni, azt írja, nem lehet.
Mi lehet a gond? Mit csináltam rosszul? Segítsetek!

(U.i.: Tudom, ATI-m van, tehát már sikeres ember nem lehetek, és hogy ősi román szokás, gépbe ATi-t tenni, tehát ha lehet, akkor inkább csak értelmes hozzászólásokat várok.)

A catalyst control centert cli-ben indítva ez a hibaüzenet:
