Twonky 7 Server install

http://mybookworld.wikidot.com/forum/t-459592/complete-guide-to-upgrade…

1) connect to ssh (login : root, password : welc0me)

2) stop Twonky : (skip this step if you have a Duo)

/etc/init.d/twonky stop

3) create Twonky 7 directory :

mkdir /usr/local/twonky

4) go in it :

cd /usr/local/twonky

5) download actual version :

wget http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/7.0.8-Special/twonky-powerpc-glibc…

6) unzip it :

unzip twonky-powerpc-glibc-2.2.5-special-7.0.8.zip

7) create directory use by twonky to store temp files :

mkdir /var/twonky

8) download starting script for twonky 7 (based on genuine WD script to start Twonky 5) :

If MBL (take care of switch in WD gui to enable/disable twonky) :

wget http://david.michel74.free.fr/MBL/twonky

If MBLD (don't take care of WD gui switch because you want disable uPnp server build with genuine MBLD) :

wget http://david.michel74.free.fr/MBLD/twonky

9) add execution to this script

chmod +x twonky

10) start twonky :

./twonky start

At this time you should have Twonky 7 working, go to http://yourip:9000 and change what you need (change share folder, client, language, enter your key if you have, etc?).

If you reboot your My Book, older twonky version start.

If all is working (make test before this step), you can (not an obligation) start twonky 7 when you start your My Book :

11) backup old Twonky startup (skip this step if you have a Duo)

mv /etc/init.d/twonky /etc/init.d/twonky.old

12) copy new startup :

cp /usr/local/twonky/twonky /etc/init.d/twonky
