Finland does not have a universal basic income (UBI), though it did conduct a two-year pilot program from 2017–2018 for a limited group of unemployed people. The experiment, which gave €560 monthly to 2,000 randomly selected unemployed individuals, aimed to test the impact of basic income on employment and well-being. While the pilot showed improvements in participants' mental well-being and life satisfaction, it did not lead to significantly better employment outcomes compared to a control group.
