This issue is a workaround for a security vulnerability. The vulnerability has been addressed in Ghostscript 9.24, so if you have that or a newer version, you don't need the workaround anymore.

ImageMagick uses Ghostscript by default to process PostScript content. ImageMagick can be controlled via the policy.xml security policy to disable the processing of PS, EPS, PDF, and XPS content.
