HP ML 310 + SAS vs. Ubuntu 6.10 Server

Nu, ilyen gépből (HP ML 310) fabrikálok Exchange szervert magunknak. Húztam rá egy Ubuntu 6.10 Server-t, hogy lássam mi vele a pálya, hogy ha legközelebb ilyen kategóriájú vasat keres valaki, akkor nyugodtan lehessen ajánlani. A cucc frankón felkúszott rá, és többnapi alapjáraton való brummogtatás után is stabilan teszi dolgát.

Jajjanyám. Valami 60 körüli ProLiant gépet felügyelek 4 másik szerencsétlennel nap-mint nap. A cucc időtállóságára vonatkozó véleményedre azért kíváncsi leszek. Nem érzem megjelenni az árkülönbséget a mezei PC és a branded vas között, legalábbis ezen a szinten. Na jó, kicsit bizserget, de annyira azért nem...

Hozott anyagból dolgozunk. Az én olvasatomban e nem szerver, de most csak erre futja.

SAS diszkek, ECC RAM, jól össze van rakva. Majd elválik. A jelenlegi vasnál mindenképpen jobb. Azt már csak az imádkozás tartja össze.

Nekem az, hogy van benne iLO, már pluszt jelent a noname dolgokhoz képest.

A múltkor kiborítottam mindenkit azzal a megjegyzésemmel, hogy jó dolog az ILO, ha közel van a gépterem. B-)

BTW tényleg nem lenne rossz, csak menne rendesen Fox alatt pl., meg IE alatt se viselkedne olyan rapszodikusan mint ahogy azt nálunk teszi. Ahány IE annyi viselkedés (tudom, IE és java probléma lehet).

Az a gáz, hogy kb. 30 átköltöztetett gépből 6-nak lett a költözés után súlyos hibája (memória hiba, táp hiba, disk hiba, alaplap hiba). A gépek 2-3 évesek többségében. Na ennek nem örülök annyira, még ha garisak is.

Mindegy, kívánom, hogy ne láss ilyeneket sűrűn! B-)
