Épp ma kaptam egy ebbe a témába vágó hírlevelet:

The vegan diet kills more animals than a carnivore diet

A naive assumption of the vegan diet is that it saves the world from animal cruelty.

This is wrong and only making things worse. It turns out that a plant from a grocery store is less vegan than a local grass fed cow.

How? The second order consequences are hard for most people to grasp. Because an animal with big, cute eyes isn’t killed, many assume that it’s more ethical to be a vegan.

But the titanic sum of animals killed to preserve a nutrient deficient, vegan lifestyle is gruesome.

How do you think farmers defend crops for the green smoothies, salad and avocado toast?

First, the soil tilling process is like a tsunami, destroying all life in its path. A recent study I came across lists all of the animals present in fields that are killed to produce many vegan staples:

  • opossum
  • rock dove
  • house sparrow
  • European starling
  • black rat
  • Norway rat
  • house mouse
  • Chukar
  • gray partridge
  • ring-necked pheasant
  • wild turkey
  • cottontail rabbit
  • gray-tailed vole
  • numerous species of amphibians

Just because an animal isn't directly killed for your food does not make it okay...

Next, farmers spray fields with pesticides to kill off even more insects. To make matters worse, many farmers shoot predators sight on seen.

It’s horrible from an environmental, health and moral perspective.

The study also estimates that 1.8 billion animals would
be killed annually to produce a vegan diet for the USA. This is based on an estimate of 15 animals being killed per ha per year.

Contrast this the carnivore diet. One steer can produce almost 365 lbs of meat...meaning that a carnivore can live off of just 1-2 cows per year. Additionally, through regenerative agriculture, these cows can be levered to restore a natural balance to the environment.

I also need to add that we can’t forget that humans are animals too. The most important animals in the world.

Our health needs to be the most important part of the equation.  Yet over 60% of the US has diabetes or pre-diabetes. 88% of American’s are metabolically unhealthy. Only 12% of Americans are metabolically healthy. And the treatment of chronic diseases costs over $1.7tn in the US. The picture is despicable.

How much do vegans actually care about these suffering humans?

At this rate, all we’re doing is saving a planet for humans withering away with chronic disease.

Disastrous recommendations have destroyed health. And the same recommendations that pushed us off a cliff are trying to do so again.

Do not fall for the vegan propaganda.

You are doing a good for yourself, for animals and for the world by adopting a carnivore diet.
