ha jól látom, akkor jelenleg itt tartunk:

  • 17 October 2019, the Intelligence and Security Committee of the UK Parliament passes a completed report on allegations that Russian government-sponsored activities had an effect on the outcome of the referendum to Downing Street.[35]
  • 4 November 2019, Downing Street comments that the report received on 17 October will not be published prior to the 2019 UK General Election.[35]

Szerintem ezek a lentiek jobban átadják a lényeget.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_interference_in_British_politics

According to a 2020 British parliamentary committee report, there is substantial evidence that Russian interference in the British economy and politics is commonplace and further, that evidence was uncovered detailing interference in the 2014 Scottish independence referendum aimed at promoting Scottish independence. [1][2] [3][4][5]

The report described the UK as one of Russia's "top targets" as it was "seen as central to the Western anti-Russian lobby".[6]

According to the report, British governments have "welcomed the [Russian] oligarchs and their money with open arms, providing them with a means of recycling illicit finance through the London 'laundromat', and connections at the highest levels with access to U.K. companies and political figures."[7]

The committee found no evidence as to whether Russian interference had affected the Brexit referendum, since the government had not authorized any investigation into that matter due to the fact that any such attempt was not within the purview of U.K. intelligence services because any such actions by the security services themselves could been seen as interference, itself undermining democracy. However, the report did discover evidence that the 2014 Scottish independence referendum had been interfered with, supporting the Scottish vote on independence. [8][9][10]

On Tuesday, Britons got their first look at the long-anticipated Russia report from Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee, which oversees the work of U.K. intelligence agencies. Four years after Britain voted to leave the European Union, a referendum long overshadowed by allegations of Russian meddling, the report is the first public examination by a parliamentary committee of Moscow’s efforts to use disinformation, malicious cyberactivity, and the influence of wealthy Russian expatriates to manipulate British politics.

The 47-page, highly readable report, which has been shelved for over a year, offers a damning assessment of the U.K. government’s failure to examine Russian attempts to influence the course of the Brexit vote and describes Russian interference in the country as “the new normal.”

“There has been no assessment of Russian interference in the EU referendum, and this goes back to nobody wanting to touch this issue with a 10-foot pole,” said committee member Stewart Hosie of the Scottish National Party during a press conference, raising questions about the British government’s efforts to protect the integrity of its elections.
