I zeroed the partition, and tried doing the replace / resilver again. It's failed in the same way, at about 26%. The errors are still IDNF.

The thing is: 3 different drives did exactly the same thing AND they did it after a secure ata erase AND they did it after the drive had been filled with zeroes AND they did it after the drives had been trimmed. AND other people reported the same problem when I popped it up on the WD forums. AND WD have been silent - other than the "nice doggy" pat on the head non-response from the marketing manager. I've been beating on this for several weeks to see if there's a workaround. The answer so far is "NO" and WD won't own it - because their drive tools won't report a fault they won't take the drives back.
