A 2025. április 17-én kiadott Ubuntu 25.04 (kódnevén "Plucky Puffin") 2025. január 15-én eléri 9 hónapos életciklusa végét. Ezt Florent 'Skia' Jacquet, az Ubuntu Release Team tagja jelentette be. A jelzett dátumtól az Ubuntu Security Notices (USN) nem fog már információkat tartalmazni erről a kiadásról és frissített csomagok sem érkeznek majd hozzá. Aki ezt a disztribúciót használja, annak érdemes mielőbb frissítenie. A támogatott frissítési útvonal az Ubuntu 25.10-en keresztül vezet:

Ubuntu announced its 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) release almost 9 months 
ago, on 17th April 2025 and its support period is now nearing its 
end. Ubuntu 25.04 will reach end of life on 15th January 2026. 

At that time, Ubuntu Security Notices will no longer include 
information or updated packages for Ubuntu 25.04. 

The supported upgrade path from Ubuntu 25.04 is to Ubuntu 25.10.

Ubuntu 25.10 continues to be actively supported with security updates 
and select high-impact bug fixes. Announcements of security updates
