solaris 2 node cluster with sun j4200 storage

Hello!

Adott ket sunfire x2200-as szerver es egy sun j4200-as storage.
szerverekben sas hba kartyak (gepenkent 1, azonositoja:LSISAS3801E), storage-ban 1 Sim board, es 6 db sata vinyo.

Feladat az lenne, h 2 szervernek kozos tarhelykent hasznalna a storage failover modban.
Kerdes megoldhato-e ez vagy milyen modszerrel?

de csak akkor latja mind2 geprol a vinyokat ha egyiket a Host or SIM Link IN masikat pedig a SIM Link Out portba dugom, vagyis mintha 2 storage-t akarnek osszefuzni.
Egyebkent elindulni se hajlando a rendszer, malmozik a storage felismeresekor ha mar egyik geprol van aktiv kapcsolata.

Amik felmerultek bennem mint hiba oka:
- konfiguralni kellene a solarist h ezt maskent kell kezelnie
- konfiguralni kell a storage-t, van serail management potrja, de nem jottem ra azon keresztul hogy vagy mivel is lehet elerni es mit
- egy sim board-al nem fog mukodni, csak ha rakok bele megegyet es egyik gep az egyiken masik a masikon van.
- sata vinyok miatt nem szereti, h sata vinyok nem birjak ez egyszerre tobb helyrol elerest es bar hasznalva csak egyik helyrol lenne egyszerre de felismerni, vmilyen kapcsolatot 2 helyre kell egyidejuleg.
- j4200-al nem is lehet megvalositani az ilyet.

SATA diszkkel nem fog menni, nem tudja az SCSI rezervációt.

De nincs veszve minden:

The Sun Cluster 3.2 update 2 release that will ship in early 2009 contains
a new feature called "Software Quorum". We are aware that there are storage
devices, such as SATA and SSD, that do not support SCSI-2 and also do not
support SCSI-3 reservation related operations. "Software Quorum" emulates
entirely in software the SCSI-3 Persistent Group Reservations. All storage devices
supported by a Solaris disk driver have a small area reserved for cluster use.
Thus we can do persistent emulation. This gives Sun Cluster the ability
to support any shared disk (or shared storage that acts like a disk).

Sun Cluster provides two main features to support shared storage.
1) The shared storage device can be a quorum device. "Software Quorum"
protocol enables any shared disk to be a quorum device.
2) Sun Cluster provides fencing. SCSI-3 provides strong fencing.
SCSI-2 provides a less robust form of fencing. SCSI-2 has several features.
An important feature is that there is a thread that probes the device
periodically, and panics the node if the probe fails.
The probe fails when the node has been fenced from the device.
With "Software Quorum"
we have a similar thread that also probes the device and panics the
node if the probe fails. This provides a similar form of data integrity.

We have successfully tested "software quorum" with Sun Cluster and SATA
disks. We have a group that qualifies various storage products, so
you would have to check with them about which storage products have
been qualified and about requests to do so.

Hmm... Koszi.
Pontosabb info van esetleg arrol mikor is van naluk az early 2009 vagy mikori ez az iras?
Netan vmi tesztverziot addig nem lehet feltenni?

Ha addig mig ez nem jon ki, csak egyik geprol hasznalnank, utanna okozna vmi problemat a quorum beuzemelese, adatvesztes vagy hasonlora lehet-e szamolni vele?

Valoban ez a gond, Sun-tol is ezt az infot kaptam, h sata vinyoktol ne varjak ilyet.
Szoval maskor javaslom aki ilyet akar elotte alaposabban tajekozodjon.

azota megjelent ez az uj verzio, de gondolom lattad mar. tudtad tesztelni? tapasztalatok?
